Rammstein is famous and internationally known for its spectacular pyrotechnic effect show, several times awarded as the best show on the planet. The band was created in 1994 by the lead vocalist Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz. All come from the East-Germany, and they lived in Communist Germany.
In 1995, they released “Herzeleid” their first album, it was not a success until they started to perform using pyrotechnics on stage then, the album was ranked 6th in Germany. The pyrotechnic was first created by the vocalist Till Lindemann (previously explosives specialist in the army) to entertain the crowd but also to enjoy more the show because he was bored to just sing.
2 years later, “Sehnsucht” (desire) is released and quickly N°1 in Germany, then they toured 4 years, two songs “Engel” but above all “Du Hast” became the most successful songs of the band all over the world.
After the Tour, they released “Mutter” in 2001, the six singles of the album were ranked in the top charts in Europe. The main single, “Sonne“, reached No. 2 in Germany and “Mein Herz Brennt” became a hit for the fans, but the band stopped for several months after September 11th. The band was in New-York, and they saw everything, shocked and changed, they decided to make a break in their career.
“Reise, Reise” the 4th album were released in 2004 with two successful song “Mein Teil” and “Amerika” (all two n°2 in Germany).
“Rosenrot” the 5th album, was released in 2005, and the lead single, “Benzin“, was ranked No. 1 in Finland (the first ever N°1 single).
The 6th album was released in 2009 and became one of the biggest successes of Rammstein, “Pussy” one of the single was charted N°1 in Germany supported by a pornographic video clip (creating controversy). Then, the band toured for several years.
In May 2019, Rammstein released its most successful album, called simply Rammstein, the album was charted N°1 in 14 countries. The first video clip called “Deutschland” (Germany) (110 million views on YouTube) created controversy, but the video depicted the History of Germany, often a dark and violent History.
