According to Gazeta Wyborcza Warszawa, the former Sphinx restaurant on the Szpitalna 1 building’s ground floor, located on the Plac Pięciu Rogów (Five Corners Square) will become a Prosty Temat’s restaurant. This new restaurant will initiate the revitalization of the square, now undergoing final renovation, we can guess a terrace will be part of the project (no official details). The square will contrast with this former car traffic passage disrupting pedestrian flow, and the risk of accidents. Once completed, the square will be returned to pedestrians, only buses will be authorized, two dozen of trees, benches, and a piece of art, a giant egg created by the Polish artist Joanna Rajkowska, will restore vitality to this place.
Already operating in Sopot on the Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street, Prosty Temat offers a large brand of meals: soups, burgers, pizzas, fish, meats, salads, pastas, cocktails, wines, beers are part of the menu.
Two years ago, the City of Warsaw allocated funds (PLN 21,8 millions) for the new center of Warsaw and one of the project is the creation of a place called Plac Pięciu Rogów “Five Corners Square” at the crossing of Chmielna, Krucza, Zgody, Bracka and Szpitalna. More than just the creation of a new place, this project is also linked to the will of the city to create more green spaces and less possibility of car traffic in the center of the capital. The project is designed by WXCA Sp. z o. o. and architect Michał Kempiński and will be delivered in the next few weeks.
