IKEA opened a concept store at Blue City in October 2018, 3 years later, the store will close this weekend, December 12th.
This store was a brand-new concept, offering a large selection of IKEA’s products, but also the whole catalog with new technologies with delivery at home.
This premise was also an IKEA Food concept and combined a café and bistro. The store was located at levels 0 and +1 of Blue City on a total surface of 4800 m2. Blue City expected 1 to 2 million customers a year because of IKEA, but unfortunately, the pandemic has strongly reduced the economic expectations.
The company says that no job will be lost, and new concepts will come soon in Warsaw, as the capital is a “priority” for the Swedish company.
