Last Tuesday, on September 14, 2021, a very special and moving event took place in the Powązki Jewish Cemetery in Warsaw. One day before, workers were repairing an exploded pipe in a building. Located inside the historic Warsaw Ghetto, the workers found remains of a man who had hid in this building following the April 1943 Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
After 78 years, his remains were buried last Tuesday by the representatives of the Jewish community of Warsaw.
How heartbreaking for this man and his family, to wait so long for a proper burial. May God comfort his family and his spirit.
