2 Polish satellites launched by Virgin Orbit

Yesterday, June 30th, Richard Branson’s Space company Virgin Orbit launched 2 Polish real-time earth observation satellites (STORK) from the startup SatRevolution (based in Wrocław). The same company plans to launch 12 more to create a constellation of satellites, with one launch each year until 2026.

The satellite were launched yesterday from a rocket called LauncherOne launched from a modified 747-400. The Mission 1 was called Virgin Orbit’s Tubular Bells: Part One mission in reference of the famous song by Mike Oldfield ‘Tubular Bells – Part One’, the first artist and song signed by Richard Branson himself on Virgin in 1973. (15 millions copy worldwide – 2,5 millions in UK).

SatRevolution is a Polish company established in 2016 with the will to develop the largest worldwide operator of EO (Earth Observation) satellites. The STORK constellation is a real-time satellite constellation for multiple purposes.
