
Iga Świątek was the unexpected surprise of the International tennis competition of Roland Garros, one of the most prestigious and known tournament in the world.
She wins the final against the American Sofia Kenin, 6-4 / 6-1, without losing a single set during the tournament. This is an fantastic achievement. No doubt she will become a very important personality in the History of Poland and an athlete to follow in the next years.


She was born in Warsaw on May 30th, 2001 and became professional only 2 years ago in 2018. The competition spirit is in the DNA of the family, his father Tomasz was an Olympic rower (1988 – Seoul Olympic Games).
In 2018 as Junior she won the gold medal at the Junior Olympic Games in Buenos Aire (Argentina). As junior, she won the 2018 French Open of Roland Garros girls’ doubles champion alongside Caty McNally and the 2018 Wimbledon girls’ singles championship. After playing in several WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) competition in 2019, she reached the fourth round of Roland Garros. In only 2 years she also won seven ITF (Women’s World Tennis Tour) singles titles. Now, 48th best woman Tennis player in the World no doubt her status will change with this victory. Before, the finale of Roland Garros she reached one final of the WTA Tour at the Ladies Open Lugano in 2019 at only 17 years old.
