
In 2 years Centrum Nauki Kopernik will not be the same. The City Hall of Warsaw announces that they signed the agreement for the construction of the extension of the museum. The new building will be built by Unibep. For a total 65 min zł (co-financed by the European-Union and the Masovian Voivodeship), the investment will be completed within 2 years and will start this month. The project was first introduced in 2017 in a contest organized in Wrocław.
The new construction will be a modern building of 4500 m2, next to the Świętokrzyska Bridge, and will contain parking lots. But the main function of the complex will an innovation center and the first research and development center in Poland where research on learning processes and social involvement in science will be conducted. There will be an interdisciplinary laboratory, workshop rooms, meeting rooms, coworking spaces, a showroom, and a café.
